What a beautiful color 911! The 1973 T is the final year of the longhood Porsche 911, and this particular car was finished in Aubergine (eggplant) from the factory. The most recent owner, who had the car for multiple decades, commissioned a refurbishing in 2009, including a partial cosmetic restoration with glass-out repaint and rust repair circa 2009 by noted Porsche restoration specialist PanelWerks in Mentor, Ohio. After that an engine refresh was performed by Steinel's Autowerks in Twinsburg, Ohio. Since then it has been driven, serviced, and enjoyed until the owner's passing. The 1972/73 911 T benefitted from the new increased displacement 2.4L engine shared with the E and the S. The US cars received either MFI or CIS (1973.5), whereas the European examples were carbureted. This particular example, while a US-spec car, was changed over to carbs. The paint still shows in great condition 14 years after being refinished, and the wheels are also in excellent condition. The exterior brightwork is pitting in some areas and the front bumper does display some road rash from the miles put on since the body was restored. The Vredestein tires were installed in 2021. The interior is in good condition with newer carpet and seat upholstery, while the upper and lower dash pad are showing some patina. The previous owner installed RS door cards with fabric loop door pulls. The underside is clean and appears to be dry and free of active leaks. The car drives smoothly and tracks straight. The carbs were just tuned and the 4-speed factory gearbox was rebuilt by Pete's Custom Coachbuilding in preparation for sale, and the car runs and shifts super well now!
