Argento (Silver) with Nero Franzi (Black) leather interior and Black carpeting, Meticulous concours-quality restoration, 4.0 liter V12 producing 300 bhp, 5-speed, Pininfarina coachwork, USA model, Factory power windows, power steering and air conditioning, Documented by Massini. This desirable 330 GT 2+2 single headlight Series II was built in 1966. Intended for export to the United States, it was equipped with several appealing (and uncommon) factory options, including air conditioning, power windows, power steering, and wire wheels. Delivered new to Luigi Chinetti Motors in Greenwich, Connecticut, it was immediately transported to the Ferrari's West Coast distributor, William F. Harrah's, Modern Classic Motors in Reno, Nevada. It was later sold to its first registered owner, Denver Cornett of Louisville, Kentucky. Mr. Cornett was the first dealer of imported cars in Kentucky and an avid sports car enthusiast. He drove in the initial post-World War II road race at Watkins Glen in 1948 and is in the Watkins Glen Walk of Fame. He founded the Kentucky Region of the Sports Car Club of America and was an active member of several other regional and national automotive clubs. The 330 GT joined numerous other fine automobiles in Mr. Cornett's personal collection and was proudly displayed at the Concours d'Elegance at the Churchill Downs Show in Louisville. In 1970, after three years of ownership and 7,000 miles, Mr. Cornett sold the 330 GT to another Ferrari devotee, C.C. Canada of Camden, South Carolina. Mr. Canada was exceptionally well-known in Ferrari circles and drove the 330 GT to events across the country, including Road Atlanta, Watkins Glen, and a national meeting of the Ferrari Club of America in Waterford Hills and Grosse Pointe, Michigan. Mr. Canada kept the 330 GT for 43 years! His ownership ended in 2013 with this 330 GT in well-preserved, unrestored condition, showing only minor blemishes due to enthusiast use and time itself. At this time, the 330 GT was sold to new ownership it was put through a comprehensive, meticulous restoration by the Ferrari experts at Julio Grosso Restorations in Danbury, Connecticut. All components were restored or replaced to bring the car to its original standards. The 330 arrived at the restoration facility with fewer than 56,000 original miles on the odometer and was completely disassembled and stripped to bare metal. No major rust was unearthed, thus little metal work was required. The 330 GT was then refinished in its original color, Argento Silver and all chrome was re-plated. Mechanicals were gone through, the engine and its components were rebuilt, new pistons and valves were installed, all hoses and lines were replaced, fuel pumps were reconstructed, and the radiator and heater were updated with new cores. The suspension was stripped, nickel-plated, and painted; components were re-bushed and the original Koni shocks rebuilt. The brakes, power steering, and clutch were restored, the interior was then completely redone to factory original standards, seats in Nero Franz Black leather with new Wilton-style carpets. The wood dash veneer, steering wheel, gauges and radio were also restored. Finally, a new exhaust system was fitted, the air conditioning system was fully rebuilt and the original Borrani wire wheels were re-spoked-restored. The 330 GT 2+2 is complete with its Ferrari tool kit, jack, reprinted owner's manual in its original leather folder, extensive documentation, including a warranty card as well as service and restoration receipts. A welcome addition to any garage or collection alike, a significant investment has been made to ensure this 330's being as it was originally intended when new.
