Specialty Vehicle Engineering (SVE) only built a limited 25 of the 2019 Yenko/SC Stage II Chevy Corvettes, and each one packs massive firepower. SVE took the already impressive 460hp Grand Sport and made a monster. Add the Z07 package to the Grand Sport from the factory and what you get are fun goodies like Magnetic Selective Ride Control, four-wheel carbon-ceramic Brembo brakes, and Michelin Pilot Super Sport Cup 2 summer tires, receiving the handling capability of the Corvette Z06, minus the supercharged LT4 V8. Cue in SVE and their 1000hp Stage II package. Their performance packages are available to multiple of the Corvette options, this specific one being the Grand Sport coupe with a seven-speed manual transmission. The Stage II package for the ’19 Corvette Grand Sport with the Z07 Package and manual transmission added $69,000 to the price of the base vehicle. How do they do it? SVE bores the LT-1 V8 engine from 6.2L to 6.8L with an Aluminum block, race quality forged 4340 steel crankshaft and H-beam rods, forged aluminum positions, CNC ported LT-4 cylinder heads with ARP high-strung head and main studs, 10-rib dedicated belt drive system, larger throttle body, upgraded higher flow exhaust system, and higher capacity high and low-pressure fuel system. To complete the insanity, SVE installs its own 2.9L supercharger, which this client opted to color match to the factory paint, resulting in the final power output of 1000 horsepower and 875 ft/lb of torque. That covers the performance side of the build, and although the car still carries it’s ‘from the dealer’ appearance, SVE is sure to through in a few aesthetic goodies. The Grand Sport carries sYc side stripe graphics with matching painted hood, roof, and deckled stripes. You’ll find the YENKO name splattered across the car in multiple places such as the front and rear badges, brake calipers, and fender vents. The brake calipers are color-matched to the Sebring Orange exterior paint with a matching pinstripe around the rim of the black-finished wheels.. This specific one is #15 out of 25 built, which can be found on the door sill plates and key tags. Although the GM warranty no longer applies once the Grand Sport is sent out to SVE from the dealer, the builders wanted you to keep peace of mind and provide their clients with a limited warranty. ‘It comes alive’ is an understatement when you are holding the clutch pedal down and touch your finger to the START button. It screams and rumbles and wants anything but to be sitting still, idling. This is a car that may scare most, but if you can handle it, SVE made one dream of a monster.
