This model year has the newer M62 engine which removed the possibility for compression issues the plagued some of the M60 nikasil engines. The M62 is the alusil engine that doesn't have compression issues and is slightly larger at 4.4L. I put less than 2,000 miles on it since I bought it in 2015. I spent over $5k on maintenance when I first bought it and haven't driven it much since. It is in excellent condition, always GARAGED, and has been well maintained. It is an expensive car to drive and properly maintain; I just don?t have the energy or funds to own a car like this. When referencing prices of other BMW 8 Series vehicles, you need to factor in the maintenance performed. I got everything needed and/or recommended by Bimmers Independent Service in San Carlos. I have these records. There are no current unaddressed issues.
